Today, Health Action in South Sudan (HASS) proudly joined hands with Save the Nile Organization and Nile Green Packaging Company to mark World Environment Day 2025 through a vibrant community cleanup in the Hai Amarat neighborhood.

This collaborative effort brought together 15 passionate volunteers, including youth leaders and environmental advocates, all driven by a common mission: to protect and restore our environment, starting right here at home.

Who Was There?

- Save the Nile Organization was represented by its visionary founder, Makur Majeng, a young environmentalist championing sustainable water resource protection.

- Nile Green Packaging was led by its CEO, Daniel Marial Rek, whose company specializes in eco-friendly packaging alternatives.

- HASS was honored to be represented by our Executive Director, Dr. Wol Wol Dut, who reaffirmed our commitment to environmental health as a pillar of community well-being.

"Today was more than a cleanup—it was a call to action. The youth of South Sudan are ready to build a greener, healthier future together," said Dr. Wol during the event.

Media Coverage

King Media was on the ground, capturing the energy and dedication of the volunteers. They conducted on-site interviews and will share the coverage on their official Facebook page soon. Stay tuned and share the message!

A Youth-Led Environmental Movement

What made this event even more inspiring is the fact that all three organizations—HASS, Save the Nile, and Nile Green Packaging—are founded and led by young South Sudanese change-makers. They have pledged to collaborate on future projects focused on environmental sustainability, public health, and youth empowerment.

This World Environment Day reminded us that change starts with small acts—like cleaning our streets—and grows through unity, vision, and local leadership.
