HASS Leads #KeepingOurHospitalsClean Campaign at Juba Teaching Hospital


JUBA, South Sudan – February 26, 2025 – Health Action in South Sudan (HASS) spearheaded a large-scale cleaning initiative at Juba Teaching Hospital as part of its #KeepingOurHospitalsClean campaign. The effort aimed to promote hospital hygiene and prevent infections, reinforcing the importance of sanitation in healthcare settings.
The campaign was fully sponsored by Miss Amylia Adut Deng Noon, HASS Co-founder and the current Miss International 2024/2025. Ms. Amylia is a co-founder and President of HASS.
Volunteers from Juba University Medical School, Upper Nile University, and hospital staff joined forces with China Medical Team Leader Du Changyong and the hospital administration to clean various sections of the facility.
In addition to the cleanup efforts, HASS donated critical cleaning materials, including Dettol liquid soap, mops, buckets, brooms, and disinfectants, ensuring that the hospital staff could continue maintaining hygiene standards in the future.
Hospital officials and medical volunteers underscored the significance of maintaining cleanliness in healthcare environments, emphasizing its role in reducing hospital-acquired infections and improving patient safety. The participation of medical students highlighted the importance of instilling hygiene awareness among future healthcare professionals.
HASS expressed its gratitude to all volunteers, hospital staff, and supporters who contributed to the success of the initiative. Special appreciation was extended to Miss Amylia Adut Deng Noon for her financial sponsorship, which made the campaign possible and reaffirmed her commitment to improving healthcare in South Sudan.
